Pastor Karen Franklin

After serving over 20 years in leadership of the church and West Ohio Conference, Karen moved from Franklin, Ohio to western Kentucky in 2005.

With an endorsement from her church, she began the process of Candidacy in Ministry in 2014. She was approved by the Board of Ministry, received Licensed Pastor status in June 2015, and was appointed to her first church near Eddyville, Ky.  While serving her church, she also has been a featured speaker at Women’s Spiritual Renewal and Community events. She also served other pastors in need of coverage while they are away from their church.

In addition to serving as the pastor at Guthrie First UMC, Pastor Karen is also the minister at Red Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Logan County.

Currently, she serves on the Pennyrile District Trustees Committee, The Pennyrile Leadership Team and on the Kentucky Conference Committee on Finance and Administration.

She and her husband Bob (a retiree) enjoy anything to do with the outdoors -- especially hiking, eagle & bird watching, and fishing.
